The 7th Khamtrul Rinpoche was born in 1909 in the Nangchen region of Tibet. At the age of 6, he was enthroned by Thuchen choekyi Gyamtso. He received many teachings from the several great masters of his time, not only from the Drukpa Kagyu lineage but also from the Nyingmapa School. Sintu Chokyi Gyamtso conferred upon him the lineage of this school. Keeping strictly the monastic precepts and being always full of loving-kindness and compassion, the 7th Khamtrul Rinpoche’s life was an example of perfect simplicity and detachment from worldly concerns. He passed away at the young age of 21.
